On Sunday 29th June 2008 a number of youth from the parish were presented with a small gift so they could take with them to WYD08.

World Youth Day (WYD) is the largest youth event in the world and was held in Sydney from Tuesday 15 to Sunday 20 July 2008.

The week culminated in a Final Mass celebrated by Pope Benedict XVI on the last day (the actual World Youth Day).

WYD08 attracted 223,000 registered pilgrims, including 110,000 from 170 nations making it the largest event ever hosted in Australia.
