PARISH OF DRUMCREE
Mission Statement: Our Parish is a Christ-centred community. In Baptism we are challenged by the Spirit to live and share the Gospel message. Through proclaiming the Gospel message to all, Growth in Faith, Liturgy, Justice Issues and Ecumenism we extend our love and care to all people providing support in renewing and deepening our faith. We value the gifts and talents of each of our Parishioners and invite them to use these in responding to Christ’s invitation to all of us to follow Him and spread the Good News to the whole world. www.drumcreeparish.com

Reflection
Love one another as I have loved you
It was one of those days. Things had gone wrong all day - some tensions at work, annoyance with people, criticism behind their backs - one of those days.
The words sometimes go through my mind then: Love one another as I have loved you. They don’t make it any easier, but somehow it makes things look a bit different and I think a bit more kindly of another.
Sometimes it’s the love one another that I remember and that gets me. Why should I love him? Why should I care for her? # They don’t seem to want to care for me. And I hear, in the ear of the mind and the memory of the heart, the words of Jesus, as I have loved you.
Your total love of me, Lord, is like a tidal wave coming over me, refreshing, cooling, drenching me and that gives me another chance to cool off hot words, refresh tired judgements and believe that, as you love me, you also love everyone.
Thanks for the words: Love one another as I have loved you.
They spur me on, cool me down, centre me and focus me on the gift of love and hope that is your gift to me. The JOY ruleThink of JesusThink of OthersThink of You |
