Congress Pilgrimage |
The International Eucharistic Congress takes place in Dublin next year from 10th – 17th June. It is not too early to think about registering. In fact early booking for pilgrims closes at the end of November 2011. With this in mind the Parish Pastoral Council is assessing if there is sufficient interest to organise a pilgrimage to the Congress which would be open to parishioners and others in the pastoral area. One information meeting has already been held and another will take place at 7.30 pm on Tuesday 22nd November in Drumcree Pastoral Centre. What is proposed is attendance at the Congress from 14th – 17th June – staying a total of 3 nights in Dublin. Workshops, liturgies, exhibitions, and catechesis take place in the RDS from 14th – 16th June with the Closing Mass at Croke Park on Sunday 17th June. The Congress will attract pilgrims from across the world and it is an opportunity for Catholics in Ireland to enhance their love for the Holy Eucharist and develop their lives in accordance with the Congress theme: communion with Christ and with one another. If this is an initiative that potentially interests you, please pick up an ‘Expression of Interest’ form in the church sacristies or download a form by clicking here . Some brief questions and answers on the pilgrimage can also be downloaded here . Please fill out the form and bring it along to the Information Meeting on Tuesday 22nd November when a clear commitment by people will have to be indicated.
