Liam Lawton when he will be introducing his new Mass setting and some other music in preparation for the new additions to the Mass beginning on the First Sunday of Advent. Fr. Liam has been commissioned by GIA Publications to compose a new Mass setting which is called The Glendalough Mass, written in Irish. The workshops are in St. Patrick's Primary School, Dungannon on 8th June and in Ballymascanlon House Hotel, Dundalk on 9th June. The workshops will start at 7.30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The cost of this workshop (which includes book and CD) will be £12 or Euro15 and is payable on the evening. It's a strange sort of parting, the feast of the Ascension. It looks as if Jesus is gone forever. As if the word made flesh is now the human flesh become a divine spirit. And his friends looked into the sky, lost, bereft, confused, because he said he would be with them, all days even to the end of time. It's a strange sort of parting, because it's a new sort of presence. Listen to what he had said: where two or three are gathered in my name there I am among you, those who eat my flesh and drink my blood live in me and I in them, I make my home in you, make your home in me. And these are statements of presence, the real presence of Jesus in love, in sacrament, in friendship. Why are you standing here, looking into the sky? For the Lord we seek is among us.
