PARISH OF DRUMCREE Mission Statement: Our Parish is a Christ-centred community. In Baptism we are challenged by the Spirit to live and share the Gospel message. Through proclaiming the Gospel message to all, Growth in Faith, Liturgy, Justice Issues and Ecumenism we extend our love and care to all people providing support in renewing and deepening our faith. We value the gifts and talents of each of our Parishioners and invite them to use these in responding to Christ's invitation to all of us to follow Him and spread the Good News to the whole world. www.drumcreeparish.com St. John the Baptist Church, Garvaghy Road, (1777) - 1977 St. Patrick's Church, William Street – 1835 3rd October 2010 Twenty-Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time Mass Times: St. John the Baptist Saturday 7 p.m. Sunday 8.30 & 11.30 a.m. St. Patrick's Sunday 10 a.m. Weekday Masses: St. John the Baptist Tuesday - Friday 7p.m. St. Patrick's Monday - Saturday 10 a.m. Monday 7p.m. (Novena - Miraculous Medal) Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Thursdays in St. John the Baptist Church beginning at 6 p.m. Devotions 1st & 2nd Sunday - October - June Confessions: St. Patrick's Saturday - 12.30 - 1.15 p.m. St. John the Baptist Saturday - 6.15 - 6.45 p.m. Baptisms: Every Saturday, 5 p.m. Registration for Baptism must be made in St. John the Baptist Church, after Friday evening Mass, two weeks prior to date. It is always our intention to keep the stands well stocked with booklets that are interesting as well as inspiring. In our daily faith journey we often come across issues that confuse us or where we would like to know more about how the Catholic Church views a certain topic. Many such issues are addressed by booklets published by CTS. Please feel free to suggest items that you would like to know more about and we will try to source booklets for you. You can have a look on the CTS website to see if there is anything that interests you, then simply place a slip of paper marked `CTS Request' in the collection basket or leave in the sacristy and we will obtain the book. Reflection Increase our faith Faith is like a well; its water is deep, refreshing, fed by the stream of living water from God; it started like a trickle of baptismal water, now it is deeper, and we draw on it for meaning, compassion and God's love. Faith is personal to each of us, like every child is uniquely loved by parents in a way that is just for that child. Faith is like holding God's hand, and we each hold hands our own way, with our own unique touch. Be grateful for faith, the gift of God. Be patient with its growth. And let's be confident in its growth. Through the darkness of doubts, through the fog of questions, through the storms of let-down, faith is nourished and grows. Like a stone thrown into the well immediately upsets the water at the top, but as it falls it upsets less, until it hardly disturbs the deep water, the place of peace and silence, that place of deep faith, at the bottom of the well. For in the bottom of the well is the home of God, and nobody can destroy that home within us. In the peace and silence of its depths is the living water, given for ever: the water that no stone can disturb, no sin can destroy. We are grateful for the water that lasts forever, that springs up inside us for eternal life; Jesus, the life of God, the life of the world. A MINUTE IN EVERY HOUR! AN HOUR IN EVERY DAY! A DAY IN EVERY WEEK 10 MINUTES OF PEACE AT 10 AM ON 10TH DAY OF 10TH MONTH 20TEN. ********** THE JOY RULE THINK OF JESUS THINK OF OTHERS THINK OF YOURSELF |
