PARISH OF DRUMCREE Mission Statement: Our Parish is a Christ-centred community. In Baptism we are challenged by the Spirit to live and share the Gospel message. Through proclaiming the Gospel message to all, Growth in Faith, Liturgy, Justice Issues and Ecumenism we extend our love and care to all people providing support in renewing and deepening our faith. We value the gifts and talents of each of our Parishioners and invite them to use these in responding to Christ's invitation to all of us to follow Him and spread the Good News to the whole world. www.drumcreeparish.com St. John the Baptist Church, Garvaghy Road, (1777) - 1977 St. Patrick's Church, William Street – 1835 11th July 2010 Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time Mass Times: St. John the Baptist Saturday 7 p.m. Sunday 8.30 & 11.30 a.m. St. Patrick's Sunday 10 a.m. Weekday Masses: St. John the Baptist Tuesday - Friday 7p.m. St. Patrick's Monday - Saturday 10 a.m. Monday 7p.m. (Novena - Miraculous Medal) Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Thursdays in St. John the Baptist Church beginning at 6 p.m. Devotions 1st & 2nd Sunday - October - June Confessions: St. Patrick's Saturday - 12.30 - 1.15 p.m. St. John the Baptist Saturday - 6.15 - 6.45 p.m. Baptisms: Every Saturday, 5 p.m. Registration for Baptism must be made in St. John the Baptist Church, after Friday evening Mass, two weeks prior to date. It was started in 1981 by Sr. Mother Angelica, a Poor Clare Nun of Perpetual Adoration We are encouraging parishioners to consider making EWTN part of their daily and weekly viewing. To help make the decision we are providing information to explain what the programme content is, and also what you need to do to be able to receive EWTN in your home. Sky Subscriber - if you are already receiving Sky all you have to do is to tune in to EWTN channel 589 at no additional cost. For subscribers a monthly Programme Highlights Guide will be available at the church door this and future weekends. Non Sky Subscribers - if you are not a Sky subscriber and wish to consider receiving EWTN we will provide you with a Programme Series Guide. This information brochure will give you a flavour of the content of the various programmes available. If, after reading the Programme Guide, you wish to install the station, you will need a satellite dish and a receiver tuned in to your TV. To help with the tuning and or installation you can call Conor Maye (CBM Security Systems) on 07776363235 or 02838334344. He will advise on the cost and will carry out the installation. After the installation cost there is no monthly or annual charge. EWTN is available 24 hours, with many popular programmes repeated and there are no advertisement breaks. The station provides a great resource for Catholics. There are people in our parish, and throughout Ireland, who will give testimony to the quality of the programmes available on EWTN You can also call the numbers which are listed on the PH and PSG if you wish to receive the Programme Guide by post each month, or for any other queries you might have. Or St. Patrick's Church, Dungannon - times to be Reflection ANOTHER STEP Love always beckons another step. Don't we know that from family life, marriage, communities, friendship? Love may seem to have nowhere to lay its head as we move from a secure place in love to new trust, new challenges, new demands, as childen grow older, a spouse gets ill. And God may seem distant. Love has to move on, leaving dead ways of being with someone, rising to new depths of conversation or care, as families move out to marry and raise new families as our loved ones die or move away. And God may seem remote. Love looks back only in thanks. For remembering past times with regret is a way of living in the past, like parents trying to pretend families are not growing up, or people in mid-life hankering after youth. Love enjoys the security and life of the present; it is willing to move and grow with each other, and it looks back only to say thanks and bring the spirit of love - grown and deepened from the past - into the future. And God is in love, for she is the source and the energiser of all true love. A MINUTE IN EVERY HOUR! AN HOUR IN EVERY DAY!
