About exams and jobs, in marriage and friendships, And our fears of things going wrong. What sort of fear does God calm? The fear of being rejected by people close to us, or the fear of love being lost. One of the worst things about death is the fear of being nothing. Or of losing God, like when Jesus was asleep in the boat. You might have had some experiences like that. where God saved you. A big relationship breaking up, a child dying, a marriage ending, redundancy or unemployment, alcoholism - surviviving with some happiness even when money was low. The Lord is close to the broken-hearted - maybe you knew that at rough times when you didn't go under and you knew that God was there. Be not afraid, for I am with you. |
