PARISH OF DRUMCREE
Mission Statement: Our Parish is a Christ-centred community. In Baptism we are challenged by the Spirit to live and share the Gospel message. Through proclaiming the Gospel message to all, Growth in Faith, Liturgy, Justice Issues and
Ecumenism we extend our love and care to all people providing support in renewing and deepening our faith. We value the gifts and talents of each of our Parishioners and invite them to use these in responding to Christ’s invitation to all of us to follow Him and spread the Good News to the whole world.

Reflection

You have only one teacher:
Jesus Christ.

Sometimes a teacher may bend down to speak to a small child,
or share an experience of loneliness with a young person;
teaching from within the group,
knowing what we are like,
and guiding us a few steps further on the way.
Jesus teaches like this,
for he is like us in all things but sin.

You have only one teacher:
Jesus Christ.

All of life is learning:
the simplest of activities like eating and drinking,
the most complicated like learning a language,
mastering the computer.

And there are other lessons:
we learn to trust from our family,
and from God through people
we learn to love, forgive, be
compassionate,
we learn to care for others,
stay faithful to partners and to community,
and we learn how to suffer, bear pain,
and eventually we learn to die.

In the bread of the Eucharist
is the life of the One
who is the teacher, the Truth.

From the word of God,
spoken through the experiences of many people,
we learn what is best in life:
meaning, direction, fullness.

From this word we learn also
how to live, in the fullest way possible,
the way of Jesus Christ.

You have only one teacher:
Jesus Christ.
