PARISH OF DRUMCREE
Mission Statement: Our Parish is a Christ-centred community. In Baptism we are challenged by the Spirit to live and share the Gospel message. Through proclaiming the Gospel message to all, Growth in Faith, Liturgy, Justice Issues and
Ecumenism we extend our love and care to all people providing support in renewing and deepening our faith. We value the gifts and talents of each of our Parishioners and invite them to use these in responding to Christ’s invitation to all of us to follow Him and spread the Good News to the whole world.

JOHN MICHAEL TALBOT CONCERT
10th OCTOBER

At midnight on the 29th of April this year a small fire took hold in the Charity Chapel of the Little Portion Hermitage, the monastery that is the home of The Brothers and Sisters of Charity a monastic community founded by John Michael Talbot.  The fire grew rapidly and within a short while had spread to the main dining room, meeting rooms, offices and library – everything was destroyed.  Thankfully no-one was seriously hurt, although some of the community, including John Michael, were treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.  This unique monastic community which includes celibate men and women as well as families were devestated by the loss.  However, always trusting in a loving and generous God they offered praise for what they had remaining and set about rebuilding their monastery.  Now fully recovered John Michael Talbot has embarked on a tour of Ireland to raise much needed funds to assist the rebuilding work so that the ministries of the Brothers and Sisters of Charity can continue.

John Michael is probably the most famous Catholic musician alive today and in recent months has just released his 51st album.  His reflective, scriptural and beautiful music has played a vital role in the spiritual life of countless people.  People who have attended a John Michael Talbot concert have described it as a mini retreat and a wonderful exerience.  At 8 PM on Friday 10th of October, John Michael will play his music for us in Saint John the Baptist Church and it promises to be a truly unforgetable evening.  As well as providing essential funds for the rebuilding of Little Portion Hermitage all profits from the concert will be donated to a project in the Developing World, details of which will be announced in the coming months.

Tickets, £7,  for the concert are available at the back of both Churches at all Masses today.  Tickets are also available in Winnies and in the Sacristy of Saint Patrick’s and Saint John the Baptist Churches.  Please come along and support the concert, both you and those who benefit from the funds raised will be very glad you did.
