PARISH OF DRUMCREE
Mission Statement: Our Parish is a Christ-centred community. In Baptism we are challenged by the Spirit to live and share the Gospel message. Through proclaiming the Gospel message to all, Growth in Faith, Liturgy, Justice Issues and
Ecumenism we extend our love and care to all people providing support in renewing and deepening our faith. We value the gifts and talents of each of our Parishioners and invite them to use these in responding to Christ’s invitation to all of us to follow Him and spread the Good News to the whole world.

Catholic Truth Society CTS Bookstand
You might have noticed that at the back of the Church we have a new bookstand from CTS. Formed 140 yrs ago CTS publish a wide range of booklets helping to inform us about our faith and help us better understand the love which God has for each of us personally. Subjects will include social issues, lives of the saints, Church teaching, prayer and scripture. Why not take a booklet home today, perhaps even on a topic that is unfamiliar to you. All the CTS booklets are written in a friendly style and are reasonably priced.

This week we also have a small range of Easter cards for you to send to your friends to celebrate the most joyous time of our year - the celebration of the resurrection of our Lord. Cards are priced at only 50p each.
COMING SOON: In times past no Catholic home would have been without a bible. Perhaps you would like to have a new Bible but are unsure which one to choose. Well, CTS has just launched a new range to suit all needs. The range includes compact, travel, standard and presentation variations, all of the highest quality, with pleasing layout and footnotes. The Bibles also contain information relating to our Catholic faith, placing each book of the Bible in the Church’s liturgical year. In the next few weeks you will be able to inspect copies and purchase any of these Bibles.

Reflection

From death to life

What a way to receive great glory:
to die!

Jesus paints a picture of death and life -
the ears of corn ripening colourfully in the air of God,
these will be life giving food - a miracle of God.
And when the grain dies, and falls into the earth,
it multiplies, nourishes even more than
before.

The glory of the grain of wheat begins when it’s buried in clay,
the glory of Jesus begins on the cross.

The glory of a person is in dying to
the false self,
the arrogant self,
the grasping self,
and rising in the love of God
in truth, humility, sharing.

We rise and die each day
as we are called forth in the
 resurrection of Jesus
to show to people
the victory of Jesus in love over hate,
in reconciliation over bitterness,
in faith over despair.

Lord Jesus,
die in us,
rise in us,
that we in you may serve our Father.
