When I was younger and wondered about the consistent direction of my life, the words were there, gentle, persuasive, liberating - Follow me. When I wonder what I’ll do with my life. In the doubts of how to give my time and love when the options were many, and some seemed more appealing than others - Follow me When I wonder about the challenges of life, the needs of the poor in this unequal world, the abuse of the child and the vulnerable, The Church with its sinfulness and failings, the words still echo - Follow me and I will make you fishers of people. In the small ways that love challenges the times for listening, for caring, for giving time, for a helping hand, with the people I’m with all the time, the words echo with their challenge and their comfort Come, follow me.
